Doin' The '64 Notch
After I can't remember how many years of having this little gem, I'm going to finally get it back on the road.

Yes! A working passenger door. Window rolls up and down, the door shuts nicely, the lock works, and the wind wing opens and closes. I used the roof sealing material suggestion from Chris of Classic VW Bugs and it sounds quite solid when closed.
Started to work on the driver side wing window and found that I had 2 right side rubber seals. Dang. Off to the ISPWest site to order a left seal.

The Paint is SWEET!
Brandon, painter half of D & J Auto, did a fantastic job on the paint. Here's a quick video.
Very shinny.
Now it's time to start putting it back together.

YES! A new post.
I am sooo glad I went with D & J Auto. All I can say is that they are taking care of the little Notch with expert hands. I've picked the color and it's looking great. Having to wait a little longer because of a little extra body work that needs to be done so the paint goes on smooth. Take a look below. I likey.....

I can see the garage floor. lol
FINALLY! A new post.
I know.. Been a while. I took my arm rests down to Manny's Custom Upholstery in San Bernardino and all I can say is WOW. I love the way they turned out. He showed me a Notch he was putting carpet into and again, wow. Also was able to get a pair of upper door trims from thesamba.com. Mine were totally missing.

Irvine VW Classic (Tons on VWs)
Took a quick trip down to the VW Classic. WOW! What a resurgence in the participation of these types of events. I haven't seen that may VWs in one place since my trips to the Bugoramas in Sac years ago. So how about those daisy wheels and the yellow tint on the windows was very weird when you looked inside. Kinda like those blue blocker sunglasses. The notch below is a year old than mine but I hoping it will look as nice.
Trasmission innards!
Haven't posted in a while so here's some stuff. Tom and I tackled the tranny a couple of weeks ago. Way easier the take apart than we thought. Everything looked good inside but I'm going to take the parts to a professional for a closer look. Then make a decision on whether or not to upgrade to some more heavy duty parts.
